Hey there!
Jocelyn Smith here, but everyone calls me Joss!
In 2016 I was certified as a Birth Doula in South Florida. Since then I have become certified as a Lactation Counselor and a Postpartum Doula. For the last decade I have traveled coast to coast assisting women in birth and in their new roles as Mothers. I specialize in helping moms in cases such as VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean) or HBAC (home birth after cesarean), as well as assisting parents in newborn development.
I strongly believe the journey of Motherhood was never meant to be walked alone, and I am passionate about taking fear out of the things we were born to do.

My Story. My Journey.
I have a background in hospitality & newborn care, but holding this space for women fell into my lap very organically as friends and loved ones began their path into Motherhood. And while I have always been the type to drop what they're doing to help a friend, navigating the challenges of Motherhood became more than just a friendly gesture for me. I noticed a consistent cloud of frustration and fear over giving birth, and the more I learned, the more questions I had. In 2016 I began researching and taking classes. What I found was generations of women who had been sold a lie. Countless women who were being told their bodies weren't capable of doing the very thing it was made to do in the name of "medical advancement". Being told things like, "this will make giving birth easier", when the statistics were contrary. I became passionate about advocating for these women. I knew I wanted to be someone that they could look to for guidance, education, and compassion.
Today, I pride myself on finding that balance between the primal, undisturbed birth and the modern woman who is just seeking her autonomy. I am a certified Full-Spectrum Doula & Lactation Counselor that strives to offer support in every stage from conception to newborn. My clients can expect not just an advocate, but a friend. Because the journey of Motherhood was never meant to be walked alone.
